Stellantis pauses production of two Jeep models
09-09-2024 14:00
The Jeep Grand Cherokee and Wrangler are no longer being assembled at Stellantis factories, and the explanation sounds fairly bleak.
The company says only that it needs to “revitalize” its operations in North America following an underwhelming first half of the year.
No exact reason is quoted for the production halt, but one doesn’t have to look farther than the parking lots to figure it out. With the Jeep off-roaders being as unpopular as they are at current prices, they have been piling up uncontrollably at dealerships and in warehouses for quite some time now. It looks like Stellantis may have some surplus inventory to move before thinking of restarting the belts.
