China-made luxury motorhome starts from €477k
At the recent Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, Germany, Chinese camper specialist Deddle RV unveiled a new model called the Carbonic Liner 78. As the name suggests, it features a carbon-fiber cab and targets the more affluent clientele in Europe.
Thanks to the extensive use of this lightweight material, the whole vehicle weighs as little as four metric tons (8,818 lbs). The chassis is rated for seven tons or so (15,430 lbs), meaning there is a lot of spare capacity for furniture and equipment on board. By default, the camper arrives with a full-fledged kitchen, a washing machine with a dryer, a shower cabin, a bedroom and a WC. The toilet has a bidet and a built-in massage function, so you don’t forget it’s a luxury RV.
Most unused items, like the beds in the back, can be folded down and pushed away to free up space. For example, you can have a motorbike garage at the rear end if you wish. A 310-liter (82-gallon) fresh water tank and a 290-liter (76.6-gallon) used water tank ensure adequate supply of drinking water, while an 800-Ampere-hour battery pack on board provides power for an AC, a TV and a fridge. A large solar panel array on the roof means you can easily spend weeks away from civilization.
Prices for customers in Europe start from a hefty €477,000, but you can save around €100,000 if you forego the carbon cab option.
