17-year-old BMW Alpina B7 fails to attract upwards of $19k
In late 2000s, Alpina produced around 800 custom B7 sedans for the United States, basing them on the E65 BMW 7-Series chassis. A well-kept example has cropped up on Cars & Bids recently and never met its reserve with a low top bid of $19,000.
That doesn’t sound like too much for a 2007MY executive saloon finished in Alpina Blue II and dressed out in a cool-looking body kit replacing both bumpers. Multi-spoke rims and a trunk lip spoiler lend it an especially tasteful look that goes great with a custom leather interior. The sunroof is power-operated, and the headlights are adaptive.
Powering the 7-Series is a 4.4-liter supercharged engine rated at 507 PS (500 hp / 373 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. A six-speed automatic carries the torque to the rear end.
As cool as the car looks, it has around 103,000 kilometers (64,000 miles) under its belt, which can be a lot for a BMW depending on the driver’s habits. This could explain why it didn’t sell.
